- What is BCM Coffee Roasters?
- It is the coffee label of Baja Christian Ministries. BCM has served the poor in Baja California since 1991, and this is our coffee. Fourth Man Roasters sources, roasts and ships it for us, which is why checkout happens on their store.
- What coffee is it?
- Two single-origin micro-lots. Zambia comes off Living Hope Coffee Farm, twelve acres on the Zambian plateau. Uganda is grown by over four hundred smallholder farmers in Bududa, on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Four roasts each, whole bean or ground at the mill. More on the coffee page.
- What do they taste like?
- We have not published tasting notes for either lot. Neither has been formally cupped and scored, so anything we printed would be a guess. Buy a pound of each and decide for yourself.
- Is it fresh?
- It is roasted to order. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for a buyer. Your bags go into the roaster after you place the order and ship once they have rested.
- How do subscriptions work?
- Pick every two weeks or every month at checkout and it repeats until you stop it, which you can do any time from your account. A subscription costs the same as ordering once, so what it buys you is the convenience.
- Who ships it, and where from?
- Fourth Man Roasters roasts and ships every order from the United States. Checkout, shipping and any changes to a subscription all happen on their store, which is why the cart looks like theirs.
- Can I buy for a church or an office?
- Yes. The 20 lb case ships as four sealed 5 lb bags, and you can set it to repeat. See wholesale, or email contact@bajachristian.org for anything larger.
- How can I do more than buy coffee?
- Come to Baja. A team builds a house in a weekend, and no construction experience is expected. Plan a visit to see a build day first, or read about bringing a team.
